Goodbye Frank, news of your passing opened many pages in my book of memories. The best began when I was a very little boy, when Carol and I were dumped off to stay with Uncle Ben and Aunt Rosie. You were my big cousin and you were so kind to me. You taught me the supreme pleasure of a strawberry soda pop at Engles store and even treated me to the occasional movie in LaCrosse. I guess I must have been a part of your shadow, always behind you! You were my hero when you played ball for the Bluejays and taught me the fine art of eating and spitting sunflower seeds during the game. But the best memory was the day you convinced me that you were the Mayor of Loretta, that tiny village on the plains of Kansas. And finally I remember your best achievement was the day you brought home that lovely girl from Germany! Your were so proud of her!
So Frank, I will say to you, "Thanks for the memories".

Goodbye Frank, my best memories of you travel back to when I was a very little boy. You were my best big cousin. You were so kind to me when Carol and I were dumped off to stay with Uncle Ben and Aunt Rosie. You took me everywhere, taught me the supreme pleasure of strawberry soda pop at Engles, and treated me to an occasional movie in LaCrosse. You were something of a hero when you played ball with the Bluejays, I was really proud of you! And one of the best memories was the day you convinced me you were the Mayor of Loretta, that tiny village on the plains of Kansas. I really believed it! Then came the day you brought that lovely girl home from Germany. Your best achievement ever!
So Frank, the best I can offer is "Thanks for the memories".

I am so proud to say that you, Frank, are my brother. Even those times I HAD to be catcher for you when you couldn't find anyone else. Pretty good one too. Ha! During the past few years I enjoyed our phone visits. Discussing our children, the stock market and politics. Also it was always a happy time when you would come join us at the Fairfield's coffee room to visit, share drinks, and Virginia Peanuts!!! You certainly did love them. Always made our trip more fun. Thanks! I have spoken with your sons and your Helga to express my deepest sympathy. I now wish to tell them..Trust that there will come a time-When precious memories of Frank-Will change your tears to smiles! My love and prayers always, your sister, Marilyn

So sorry to hear. Was a great coach mentor and family friend to me. I'll never forget him being my first baseball coach and l wanted play catcher and he threw me my very first pitch and l caught it in palm of catchers glove instead of the web and it hurt. He gave me a sponge to put in glove case l ever caught it like that again. Lesson learned , l learned right then how catch . Plus he took my friends hunting on your farms and welcomed us all from KC. Frank you did me alot of good. My condolences to you all and God bless
