Harold G. Boor

Harold G. Boor, 83 of Hays, KS, died on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at the Hays Medical Center.

He was born on July 7, 1931 to Hilary and Theresa (Mannebach) Boor in Norton, Ks.  He married Leona (Rall) Boor on October 8, 1951, at Immaculate Conception Catholic  Church, Grinnell, Ks.  He was a farmer and stockman and worked for the Fort Hays Experiment Station for 38 years, where he was the shop foreman.  He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church of Hays, and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #6984.
    
Survivors include his wife Leona Boor of the home, two sons, Doug Boor and wife Joyce of Hutchinson, KS, and Stan Boor and wife Cindy of Hays.  Two daughters, Cheryl Grabbe and husband Richard of Overland Park, Ks.  Missy Gollhofer and husband Phil of Fort Worth, Tx.  One brother Leon Boor and wife Mary Jo of Abilene, Ks.  Four sisters, Luella Linnebur and husband Wayne of Bel Aire, Ks,  Marcella Hickert and husband Gerald of Hays, Ks,  Majella Hickert and husband Fred of Hays, Ks, Jeannie Patterson and husband Jerry of Wakefield, Ks and  a sister-in-law Susan Boor, of Hutchinson, Ks. Twelve grandchildren, Bret Grabbe and wife Karen of Gales Ferry, Ct, Jason Boor and wife Jill of Richmond, Tx,  Russ Grabbe and wife Shannon of Shawnee, Ks.  Tonya Charbonneau and husband Jeff of Hutchinson, Ks, Shannon Obermite and husband Bob of Hutchinson, Ks, Clint Boor and wife Glenda of Hutchinson, Ks.  Brandon Gollhofer, Blake Gollhofer, Luke Gollhofer, Logan Gollhofer, Brooklyne Gollhofer,  Jordyne  Gollhofer all of Fort Worth, Tx.  Two step grandchildren, Jordan Koehn of Hoxie, Ks and Tessa Koehn of Lawrence, Ks.  Ten great grandchildren, Sami  and Nate Grabbe of Gales Ferry, Ct, Caydence, Kinsley and Brinlynn Boor Hutchinson, Ks, Ande and Jackson Obermite of Hutchinson, Ks, Emma and Easton Charbonneau of Hutchinson, Ks, and Amelia Grabbe of Shawnee, Ks.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Marvin Boor, a son Harlan Boor and a step son Aaron Koehn.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 30, 2015 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 1805 Vine St.  Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery.   Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 on Thursday and from 1:00 pm until 1:45 on Friday, all at the Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1906 Pine.  A Daughters of Isabella rosary will be at 6:00 pm, a parish vigil service will be at 6:30, followed by a Knights of Columbus rosary at 7:00, all on Thursday at the funeral home.  Memorials are suggested to masses or to Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, in care of the funeral home.   Condolences may be left for the family at www.haysmemorial.com
