Jim,
My sincerest condolences on the death of your mother. I happened on the obituary as I was working with some cemetery records for the city office where I work. I have always remembered you as the only person I have ever met with the exact same birthdate. month/day and year. She and your family are in my prayers.

Dear Jim: I am so sorry that I will be unable to attend your mother's memorial
service. My family thought so much of Helen. My mother always enjoyed
having coffee with her, and enjoyed being at PEO meetings. She was
also my 5th grade teacher, so I have known her for a very long time. She sang
beautifully, at my mother's funeral in 1998.
My thoughts are with you and your family. I'm so glad she was able to have
such a long life.
Sincerely,
Mac Reed

Mrs. Allen has been an important part of my life since grade school. Mrs. Allen has been an important part of many people's lives since the third grade. Mrs. Allen was a teacher and she wanted you to learn, If you asked her how to spell a word, you got her standard answer in her very Mrs. Allen tone of voice ; " Look It Up !" . She wouldn't tell you, you had to look it up and in doing so, you most likely learned the spelling and definition of several words because you would sit there and read that page. Pretty tricky of Mrs. Allen wasn't it ? To sing in her choir was a blessing, a joy and fun. Mrs. Allen was a wonderful influence on society and culture and one day the world will wish it could be that way again,.

In Loving Memory of Mrs. Allen

Mrs. Allen was my third grade teacher in 1961, church choir director through high school, and friend in later years. She was still teaching me something each time we spoke. What a pleasure to have enjoyed her vocal gift, sense of humor and kindness for so many years.

Helen was a lovely friend and neighbor to our mother Irene Bollig at Brookdale. We enjoyed visits with her when we visited mom, and she was a concerned and loving friend. That Helen and Irene passed away just a day apart, seems to be God's plan that they'll remain friends in His Kingdom.
