John Paul Jones, 37, Victoria, died on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

He was born July 25, 1986 in Hays, the son of Tim and Jackie (Schmidt) Jones.  John was a 2004 graduate of Victoria High School and on September 29, 2012 was united in marriage to Aubrey Dreiling in Victoria.  He worked for T&J Construction and Weld-Tech, and would take on various other jobs doing concrete sandblasting and shingling.  He loved playing cards with his family and friends, cooking and grilling, and celebrating the Fourth of July.

Survivors include his wife, Aubrey and children, Cooper and Georgia Jones all of Victoria, his parents, Tim and Jackie Jones of Hays, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Cletus and RoseAnn Dreiling of Victoria, his sister, Niki Smith and husband Anthony of Hays, a brother-in-law, Tyler Dreiling and wife Tricia of Leavenworth, a sister-in-law, Chelsey Dreiling of Topeka, and three nieces and a nephew, Emma and Julie Smith, Hayden and Tanner Dreiling.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Monday, April 15, 2024 at The Basilica of St. Fidelis in Victoria, with Fr. Curtis Carlson, OFM Cap. officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Catherine Cemetery in Catharine.  Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 on Sunday and from 9:00 am until service time on Monday, all at the Basilica.  A vigil service and rosary will be at 6:30 pm on Sunday at the Basilica.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested for Cooper and Georgia’s education, with checks payable to Aubrey Jones.  Funeral arrangements are in the care of Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home and condolences and memories of John may be shared with this family at www.haysmemorial.com
