My sisters and I are sad to know Erma has passed. May she rest in peace,
Erma and Leonard were so good to us when we would visit the farm where we grew up. They knew how special it was to us as it was to them. Our grandfather James Morehead and his brothers homesteaded the property from 1887-until the 1940s.
This is a beautiful picture of Erma.
With deepest sympathy,
Mary Steffens Schweitzer

Thank you Mary; I remember being very young and seeing several young ladies walking in the south pasture and visiting us. Later I came to know that you too had grown up in this beautiful place along Walnut Creek. I'm glad you came back to visit your roots several times. That countryside holds a special place in our hearts. Thank you for complimenting Mom on her picture.

I am so sorry for the loss of your Mother. I worked some for your mom and dad in the mid 60's on the farm north of Alamota. Your mother fed me many great lunches and was always glad to have me in your home. I have many great memories of working with and for your family. Your mother was a wonderful person. God bless you all and a special prayer for your dad as he recovers.

Thank you Jim for your kind sentiments about Mom and my family. She would be surprised how many people have complimented her cooking. She put much effort in choosing what she made in hopes the hired hands would like the meals. And thank you for prayers for my Dad too! The Alamota years have a special place in our hearts!

Thank you John for your prayers for our family during this sad time. Mom very much appreciated the memories and good people throughout their years of farming in Lane County.
