Leona Rohleder

Leona Rohleder, 93, Hays, died Saturday, January 19, 2013 at the Hays Good Samaritan Society.

She was born June 18, 1918 in Emmeram, Kansas the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Huffman) Kuhn.  On November 15, 1938 she married Otto Rohleder in Emmeram.  He died July 24, 1985.  She was a homemaker and gardener, a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, and was an avid fan of Kansas City Royals baseball, and loved  to play cards and bingo.

Survivors include four sons, Leon Rohleder of Hays, Norman and Vera Rohleder of Russell, Paul and Jackie Rohleder of Salina, and Kenneth and Shirley Rohleder of Plainville, three daughters, Arlene Brungardt of Hays, Mary Brungardt and husband Jerry of Victoria, and Rose Ann Rohleder of Wichita, one brother, Francis Kuhn and wife Mary Jane of Victoria, and one sister, Martina Bieker of Hays.  Twenty two grandchildren, forty four great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.  She was preceded in death by a daughter, Joan Clara Rohleder, a son-in-law Irvin Brungardt, a great granddaughter Lindsay Renee Miller, and eight brothers and six sisters.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.  Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery.  Friends may call on Monday from 5:00 until 8:00pm and on Tuesday from 9:00 am until 9:30 all at the Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1906 Pine.  A parish vigil will be at 6:30 pm on Monday at the funeral home.  Memorials are suggested to the Hays Good Samaritan Society or to St. Joseph Cemetery, in care of the funeral home.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.haysmemorial.com
