Rest in peace, my dear elegant cousin ( "the voice".). One of my first memories as a child is of Bob in Navy whites sitting at a drugstore soda fountain. Through luck and hard work he built a dynasty, remaining a kind man to all. I'll have masses said at my parish for Bob and Pat during the coming year.

Bob Schmidt was a friend and mentor when I lived in Hays, during my student and later faculty years---- at a time when I needed it most. He was an example of hard work, dedication to mission and a caring spirit of helpfulness. Additionally, he was pleasant, funny, and fun to be around.
I'm sorry I'm on the road at meetings during this period, and unable to be present with my goodbye for Bob. He will be greatly missed and always remembered.

Rest in peace, cousin Bob. We have many fond memories of family gatherings in years past, especially the Colorado reunions of the first cousins. You led an exemplary life that we can all learn from. Now enjoy your next li life eternally with Our Lord and Pat, as we await the day when we all join you.

A true humanitarian has been lost to us, but I am confident his (and Pat's) work will continue through their Foundation
I am honored to have known both Bob and Pat, as a member of the KAYS family -- many years ago: do you remember Party Line? It started as Bev's Party Line (yep, this Bev).
A little fun note I'll always remember about Bob was when he decided to quit smoking, but continued to bum cigarettes from so many of us. We all told him: Bob, you didn't quit smoking, you just quit buying! Having fun was always part of life at KAYS.
My heartfelt condolences to Bob's family -- may our Dear Lord comfort you and reassure you that both Bob and Pat are in good hands.
My love to all of you always -- Bev Faubion

The Schmidt Family,
I offer my sincere condolences for the loss of your beloved family member.
I had the honor and privilege to know both Bob and Pat. My angelic Mother, Virginia, loved them both as family.
One of my fondest memories of Bob and Pat were at KU Medical Center, where I was able to spend quality time with both of them. While visiting Pat daily during her stay, I quickly noticed how Pat would "light up" every time Bob entered the room and he reciprocated. It was a love that was contagious and beautiful to witness. They shared their love with my family and countless other individuals. From Pat's sweet demeanor and presence to Bob's laugh (especially at Mother's wit and humor) and professionalism, every visit was memorable and pleasant.
Please let me know if the is anything I can do for you. I love you all and understand the immense grief experienced losing a parent.
You are in my thoughts and prayers.

My sincere condolences to everyone touched by Bob's life and his legacy. Bob represented everything that is special about the radio business. It was a true blessing to represent Eagle out in the western Nebraska panhandle for three years.
Not a week goes by that I don't thank the Lord for knowing Bob Schmidt.

I was fortunate to work for KFEQ Radio in St Joseph, Mo starting in 1975. Bob was part of the ownership group at that time and I got to talk with him on several occasions when he came to town. Apon hearing Bob's voice for the first time I remember asking "could I borrow your voice for a few years!" He looked at the 7:00-midnight newbie and said "I'll work on that!" When I retired in 2013 I got to experience his vision and generosity with his gift of the ESOP. I thanked him then as I do now.

Bob was a great mind who thought ahead and looked after the people he worked with. It is because of him that so many Eagles will retire comfortably. Thank you Bob Schmidt!

Our sincere condolences to the family. I recall at Bob and Pat's 60th anniversary Mass at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Hays something very memorable Fr. Fred Gatschet said in his homily. He said, of all the wonderful and significant things Bob and Pat did for our community and for many people, there is one thing that stands out above all - it is the faithful witness of 60 years of marriage. We are so very thankful for having known Bob and Pat and especially for their witness of selfless giving to each other, their family, and to so many others. May the fullness of God's blessing lead Bob home to Pat and comfort the family. Allen and Ellen Schmidt and family
