Alice (Geist) Fisher

Alice (Geist) Fisher, 87, Hays, died Friday, October 2, 2020 at HaysMed.

She was born April 1, 1933 in Ellis, the daughter of Nick and Lidwina (Kuhn) Geist.  On May 3, 1955 she was united in marriage to Cyril Fisher at St. Joseph Church in Hays, and they celebrated 65 years of marriage.  She worked at St. Anthony Hospital, Duckwalls, and Dillons before moving to Phillipsburg in December 1958, where she and Cyril owned and operated     C & A Floor Covering Store.  They worked side-by-side until their retirement in November 1995.   In February 2003, they moved back to Hays to a retirement home.  She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband Cyril of Hays, a sister; Albertina Rohleder and husband Val of Abilene, and many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother; Alfred Geist, and three sisters; Irene Windholz, Alberta Pfannenstiel, and Melinda Lang.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Fr. Matthew Cowan officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 6:00 pm until 8:00 on Tuesday and from 9:00 am until 9:45 on Wednesday, all at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.  A vigil service will be at 7:00 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.  Memorials are suggested for masses, to St. Joseph Church, or to TMP-Marian High School.  Condolences and memories of Alice may be shared with the family at www.haysmemorial.com
