Alice Marie Walters

Alice Marie Walters, 85, Hays, died Sunday, April 24, 2022 at HaysMed.

She was born February 26, 1937 in Munjor, the daughter of Joseph A. and Agnes (Rohr) Gross.  On July 26, 1975 she was united in marriage to Gary L. Walters in Miami, Oklahoma.  They were married 46 years before he died on September 21, 2021.  She enjoyed painting, wallpapering, watching old westerns, and drinking coffee.  She also loved being outdoors, mowing, and helping Gary work around the yard.

Survivors include her son: Howard Krug of Hays, one sister: Rosie Williams of Laurie, MO, four sisters-in-law: Doris Dinkel, Rozine Lamberston and husband Harry, and Debbie Bohm and husband Tom, all of Hays, and Barbara McCauley of Topeka, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gary, and two brothers: Marvin and Larry Gross.

Graveside services for both Alice and Gary will be at 11:00 am on Friday, June 10, 2022 in St. Joseph Cemetery, with Fr. Richard Daise officiating.  Memorials may be made payable to the Dreiling-Schmidt Cancer Institute, in care of Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.  Condolences and memories of Alice may be shared with her family at www.haysmemorial.com
