Brooke Renee Desbien, 31, Hays, died Monday, November 28, 2022 at HaysMed.

She was born July 19, 1991 in Hays, the daughter of Kris A. and Michelle Renee (Dreiling) Desbien.  In 2009 she graduated from Hays High School then attended Fort Hays State University and Kansas State University, pursuing a kinesiology degree.  Brooke was a loving caregiver and stay at home mom who put others’ needs ahead of her own.  Brooke loved animals and children, was a talented crafter, phenomenal artist, and expressed herself and her love for others through her writing.  

Survivors include her fiancé Casey Pletcher and his two children: Marcaline Moran and Viola Pletcher of the home, her father: Kris Desbien, mother: Michelle Desbien and fiancé Danny Krankenberg, a brother Brad Desbien and April Johnson, a sister: Drew Desbien, a niece: Myla Desbien, and maternal grandparents: Ernie and Pam Bryant, all of Hays, paternal grandparents: Don and Connie Desbien of Palco, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather: Ron Dreiling.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 am on Monday, December 5, 2022 at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Pastor Brant Rice officiating.  Inurnment will follow in Fort Hays Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 9:00 am until service time at the funeral home.  Memorials are suggested to the Humane Society of the High Plains.  Condolences and memories of Brooke may be shared with her family at www.haysmemorial.com
