Colton Cade Lane, 16, of Munjor, passed away Saturday, August 21, 2021 at his home.

He was born May 8, 2005, in Hutchinson, Kansas.  He was a junior at Victoria High School where he was active in football, FFA, FCCLA, and V-Club.  He was also involved in 4-H from a young age and enjoyed showing his animals at the county fair.  Colton loved the outdoors, fishing, and hunting. Colton was a free-spirited young man who loved spending time with family and friends. He had a very caring soul and would give the shirt off his back to help anyone.  He loved working on his dirt bike and fixing up junk.  He was a true country boy and enjoyed going to his grandpa’s farm, especially riding his Mexican bucking pony, CJ.  Colton enjoyed rodeos and helping his sisters at barrel races.

He is survived by his parents: Chelsea Dickey and Bill Werth of Munjor, an older sister: Cadence Dickey, a twin sister: Callie Lane, little sisters: Cidnee and Cashlyn Werth, and a little brother: Canyon Werth all of Munjor, grandparents: Cindy Dickey of Hays, Marc Dickey (Chris) of St. Louis, MO, and Kevin and Patty Werth of Hays, two uncles: Alex Dickey of Albuquerque, NM and Jeremy Werth of Hays, great grandparents: Janis Baker of Hays and Kenny and Elaine Werth of Schoenchen, and many great aunts, great uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his great grandfather: Lyle Baker, cousin: Jordan Schreurs, and uncle: Michael Werth.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Thursday, August 26, 2021, at Hays First United Methodist Church, with Rev. Craig Hauschild and Matt Dumler officiating.  Inurnment will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Munjor.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 8:00 on Wednesday at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home and from 9:00 am until service time on Thursday at the church.  Memorials are suggested to Chelsea Dickey for a scholarship to be established in Colton’s memory.  Condolences and memories of Colton may be shared with the family at www.haysmemorial.com
