Darin Francis Applegate

Darin Francis Applegate, 60, Hays, died Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Wesley Medical Center.

He was born July 12, 1960 in Topeka, Kansas the oldest of four children to Dr. Francis R. and Haven (Moore) Applegate. He was a 1978 graduate of Hays High School.  Following high school, he received his certification in computer maintenance through North Central Kansas Technical College.  From there Darin used his expertise to help fix family and friends’ computers, build computers and work at Smoky Hills Television.  Darin was an avid lover of jazz music, rock ‘n roll, photography, and all things Star Trek.  However, his greatest joy in life was being an uncle.

Survivors include his parents: Francis and Haven Applegate of Hays, a brother: Troy Applegate and Wife Connie of Celina, Texas, six nieces: Alexandra and Ashley Applegate, Kalee and Courtney Daily, and Brooke and Sadie Fox, and a nephew: Koby Daily and wife Brie.

He was preceded in death by his sisters: Kirsten Daily and Noelle Fox.

A private family funeral service will be on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.  Inurnment will follow in Ft.
