David Lee “Dave” Legleiter

David Lee “Dave” Legleiter, 63, Hays, died Monday, October 25, 2021 at his home.

He was born February 6, 1958 in Hays, the son of Wilfred “Fritz” and Deltha (Werth) Legleiter.  He worked for Dreher Guttering and was a farmer and stockman.  Dave enjoyed fishing, trains, flower gardening, landscaping, tinkering, and spending time remodeling his shed into a tiny house. 

Survivors include two brothers: Terrence Legleiter of Hays, Darrel Legleiter and wife Nadine of Frisco, TX, three sisters: Kathleen Dreher of Hays, Sheryl Hayslip and husband Jerry of Frisco, TX, and Sandra Bradshaw and husband Marc of Jetmore, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother: Troy Legleiter, and a brother-in-law: Ron Dreher.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Fr. Elias Chinzara officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 on Friday and from 9:00 am until 9:45 on Saturday, all at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.  A vigil service and rosary will be at 6:30 pm on Friday at the funeral home.  Memorials are suggested for masses or to Holy Family Elementary School.  Condolences and memories of Dave may be shared with the family at www.haysmemorial.com
