Deborah “Debbie” Rupp, age 54, of Hays died Sunday, February 3, 2013 at her home after a courageious battle with lung cancer.

Debbie was born December 29, 1958 in Hays to Charles and Viola (Dinkel) Rupp.  She was a person of great will and strength.  At the age of 46 she received her GED.  She was a hard worker and was loved by all of her co-workers.  Debbie’s favorite down time was riding her ATV and spending time with friends and family.  She was a friend to many and a great companion, daughter, sister, and aunt.

Survivors include her parents, Charles and Viola Rupp of Hays; brothers, Bernie Rupp of Hays and Vernon Rupp and wife, Mellisa of Kansas City; her long time companion, Darren Briet of Hays; nieces and nephews, Danielle (Rupp) Bornholdt and husband John of Hutchinson, great nephew, Laine Werth of Hutchinson, B.J. and wife Dena Rupp of Hays, great nieces, Kinley and Madisyn Rupp of Hays, nephew, Landon Rupp and niece Lauren Minick-Rupp of Kansas City; along with many beloved four legged nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 9, 2013, at the Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 20th and Pine.  The family will receive friends and relatives on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the service time.  Inurnment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Hays.  Memorials have been established with Hospice of Hays Medical Center or donations for a park bench in memory to be decided at a later date, all in care of the funeral home.  Condolences to the family at www.haysmemorial.com
