Diane L. Eggleston, 76, Hays, died Friday, November 12, 2021 at HaysMed.

She was born January 21, 1945 in St. Paul, Minnesota, the daughter of Noah and Elsie (Merciless) Amiot.  She was united in marriage to Bobby A. Smith, and he preceded her in death.  She then married John H. Eggleston, and he preceded her in death.   Diane worked at Wilson Elementary School as a lunch assistant and she enjoyed attending Celebration Community Church.  She was a natural caregiver, generously giving of her time, catering to the needs of others, and welcoming people into her home.  She enjoyed camping, fishing, poolside with family, crafts, decorating, and shopping.  She looked forward to her weekly lunch with friends and most of all, loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Survivors include her daughter: Kim Hodny of Wichita, two brothers: Dale Amiot (Anita) of California and Jerry Amiot (Rick Angel) of Arizona, two sisters: Debra Amiot and Karen Riccetti (Paul) both of California, six grandchildren: Mickey Lara (Sara), Justin Smith (Chelsey), Mallory Hertel (Craig), Taylor Cooper (Dakota), Kristyn Hodny (Drew Schrum), and Shianne Smith (Jason Goodman), and seven great grandchildren: Jaden, Avery, Mason, Cohen, Sophie, Mya, and Jaxon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands: Bobby and John, son: Tim Smith, and two sisters: Barbara Perry and Shirley Decell.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Pastor Brant Rice officiating.  Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 7:00 on Monday and from 10:00 am until service time on Tuesday, all at the funeral home.  Burial will be at 1:00 pm on Wednesday in Sunset Lawns Cemetery, El Dorado.  Memorials are suggested to the Dreiling/Schmidt Cancer Institute.  Condolences and memories of Diane may be shared with the family at www.haysmemorial.com
