Diane Marie Hickert

Diane Marie Hickert, 53, Hays, passed away Monday, September 21, 2020 at Hays Good Samaritan Society.

She was born Thursday, May 4, 1967 in Norton to Gerald Henry and Marcella Theresa (Boor) Hickert.

Diane grew up on the family farm near Jennings. She attended the Jennings and Norton schools, graduating from Norton High School. On the farm she loved her kitties. While in high school she earned several trophies for bowling and playing basketball. In 1992 the family moved to Hays. Diane had been employed by DSNWK over the years. She enjoyed watching sports on tv, her craft projects, eating out with her family, going shopping with her Mom, and doing word search puzzles.

Survivors include her mother, Marcella Hickert, Hays; sister, Debra Dix, Stockton; brother, Darrell Hickert, Oberlin; three nieces; one nephew; her aunts and uncles: Leona Boor, Hays, Susan Boor, Hutchinson, Luella Linnebur, Bel Aire, Majella and Fred Hickert, Hays, Leon and Mary Jo Boor, Abilene, Jeannie and Jerry Patterson, Wakefield, and Charlene Goscha, Oakley; and numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, Gerald Hickert and sister-in-law, Shirley Hickert.

A private family service will be at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, with Pastor Dave Buller officiating.  Inurnment will take place at a later date.
