Glenn Staab Obituary

Glenn David Staab

Glenn David Staab, 66, Hays, died Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Via Christi Village.

He was born May 18, 1955 in Hays, the son of Roger and Verla (Kreutzer) Staab and was the first of five children.  He graduated from Hays High School in the class of 1973.  Glenn married Dottie Marie Stephens on July 4, 1975 and they brought four children into the world: Justin David (1980, deceased), Craig Anthony (1982), Kevin Richard (1984), and Michelle Renee (1985).

Glenn was an active member in many political, social, community, and volunteer organizations.  He was a man who cared deeply about his community, and always had a willingness to go out of his way to help others.  Many met Glenn through his occupations in insurance and real estate, or his active involvement in state and local politics, but those were typically just beginning chapters to what would become life-long friendships.  Friends were a close second to what he loved most - his family.  Anyone who knew Glenn was likely to know about his brothers and sister, nieces and nephews, kids, grandchildren, and of course, his soulmate Dottie.  These were treasures in life he valued more than anything.  While the passing of Glenn is painful because of the many lives he positively touched and impacted, he would not want his death to be mourned, but rather his life to be celebrated.  Pass along a story, share an old joke, or recollect a memory you have of Glenn that made your life better.

Survivors include his wife Dottie of Hays, two sons: Craig Staab and wife Trish and their daughters Kenadee and Karsyn and son Holden, all of Spring Hill and Kevin Staab and wife Kori and daughter Lydia, all of Lawrence, a daughter: Michelle Staab of Overland Park, three brothers: Lyle Staab and wife Marilyn of Overland Park, Dale Staab and wife Steph of Hays, and Mark Staab and wife Missie of Allen, TX, and a sister: 1985 Hays High Homecoming Queen Terri (Staab) Hamel and husband Kyle of Gilbert, AZ, and many other family members, including nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Roger and Verla Staab, father and mother in-law: Neal and Helen Stephens, and son Justin.  We find comfort knowing Glenn is reunited with the friends and family members who passed before him, and are certain his distinctive laugh blends perfectly with the voices of the saints and angels.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, with Fr.
