Jessica M. Walters-Bridges, 38, Hays, died Sunday, June 14, 2020 at HaysMed surrounded by family.

She was born June 9, 1982 in Hays the daughter of Gerald and Marjorie (Rohr) Walters.  She graduated from Hays High School in 2001 and worked at Goodwill, Hays Good Samaritan Society, Wal-Mart, and the Fairfield Inn, and she was a homemaker.  On September 6, 2008 she was united in marriage to Jonathan “John” Bridges at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Hays.  She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, loved dogs and cats, especially her dogs Buddy and Billy, visiting with friends, going for walks, watching TV shows, and was a very gracious and kind person.

Survivors include her husband John, of the home in Hays, her parents; Gerald and Marjorie Walters of Hays, her grandmother; Mildred Walters of Hays, three sisters; Jennifer Husselman and husband Chris of Augusta, Jolene Wellbrock of Hays, and Janell Williams of Wichita, a sister-in-law; Cindy Walters of Hays, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather; Delbert Walters, maternal grandparents; Felix and Mary Rohr, two brothers; Curtis and Craig Walters, and a brother-in-law; Steve Wellbrock.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 8:00 on Wednesday and from 9:00 am until 9:45 on Thursday, all at the Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.  A vigil service and rosary will be at 6:30 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.  Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, DSNWK, or to the Humane Society of the High Plains.  Condolences and memories of Jessica may be shared with the family at www.haysmemorial.com
