Joyce Ann Misiag

Joyce Ann Misiag, 72, Aiken, South Carolina, loving wife and mother of four, died Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at Select Specialty Hospital in Augusta, Georgia.

She was born June 4, 1950 in McCook, Nebraska the daughter of Francis and Wilburma (Shields) Winkler.  She graduated from Oberlin High School and went on to receive her nursing degree from Washburn University.  Joyce was a practicing pediatric, home health, and hospice nurse for 40 years.  On October 28, 2000, she married Thomas Misiag of Aiken.

Survivors include her husband Tom of Aiken, SC, four children: Jessica Johnson and husband Brandon of Hays, Kristopher Marintzer and wife Anna Beth of De Soto, Cody Marintzer and wife Karen of Hays, and Shiloh Martinez and husband Adrian of Sartell, MN, 15 grandchildren whom she adored: Tucker, Jersey, and Cooper Johnson, Mason, Miles, and Meryn Marintzer, Caleb, Mattias, Joshua, Catherine, Benjamin, Cecilia, and Augustin Marintzer, Isabel and Sebastian Martinez, and a nephew whom she thought of as her own: Joshua Waddell and wife Tina of Hays.

She was preceded in death by her parents, twin sister: Janet Sue Waddell, and a granddaughter: Tess Rose Johnson.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.  Visitation will be from 9:00 am until service time.  Burial will follow in Fort Hays Memorial Gardens.  Memorials are suggested to Shriners Hospitals for Children or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  Condolences and memories of Joyce may be shared with her family at www.haysmemorial.com
