Kathrine Bessie Younger Ochs, 74, Hays, died Saturday, December 24, 2022 at HaysMed.

She was born February 10, 1948 in Garden City, Kansas, the daughter of Harry E. and Alice (Ruedigar) Ochs.  She grew up in Great Bend and was a graduate of Lebanon High School in Lebanon, Kansas.  Kathrine was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Hays and worked in Russell as a nurse aide at Wheatland Nursing Home and as a medication aide for DSNWK.  She had an awesome sense of humor and enjoyed working in her yard growing flowers, cooking, sewing, doing crafts, and beautifully painting ceramics.

Survivors include her son: Robert James Younger, Jr. and Marie Clark of Great Bend, two daughters: Kristina Elizabeth Younger and fiance Curtus Wittman of Victoria and Angelina Marie Younger of Russell, one brother: Clyde Ochs of Oklahoma City, OK, one sister: Jonna Leach and husband Bill of Hays, six grandchildren, Alyssa Scott, Vincent Scott, Saeed Aquil, Jessica Younger, Treaver Younger, and Zachary Younger, and one great granddaughter: Lexi.   

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Ed Ochs, and an infant brother.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Friday, January 6, 2023 at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Deacon Dave Kisner officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until service time at the funeral home.  Private family inurnment will be in Great Bend Cemetery.  Memorials are suggested to St. John’s Chapel at Via Christi or to Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.  Condolences and memories of Kathrine may be shared with her family at www.haysmemorial.com
