Linda L. Stecklein

Linda L. Stecklein, 70, Olathe, died Thursday, September 16, 2021 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri.

She was born June 8, 1951 in Hays, the daughter of Alfred “Fritz” and Lyola (Zimmerman) Stecklein.  On September 4, 1971 she was united in marriage to Ronald “Ron” Stecklein at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Hays.  They celebrated 47 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on July 11, 2019.  She enjoyed listening to music, doing arts and crafts, shopping, and spending time with her family.

Survivors include four sons: Ronald “Ronnie” Stecklein, Jr. and Melanie Rohe of Clay Center, Kelly Stecklein and wife Karmen of Russell, Mike Stecklein and wife Michelle of Olathe, and Eric Stecklein and wife Susan of Olathe, daughter: Amy Stecklein of Olathe, one sister: Sheron Owens of Tennessee, a sister-in-law: Charlene Weigel and husband Dennis of Gorham, seventeen grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, with Fr. Elias Chinzara officiating.  Burial will follow in the Kansas Veterans’ Cemetery, WaKeeney.  Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 7:00 on Monday and from 9:00 am until 9:45 on Tuesday, all at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.  A vigil service and rosary will be at 6:30 pm on Monday at the funeral home.  Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association.  Condolences and memories of Linda may be shared with the family at www.haysmemorial.com
