MARY LOU RODGERS
Mary Lou Rodgers of Hays, beloved mother, grandmother, and one who had a passion for being creative and artsy, died at her home on Friday, April 20, 2012. She was 63 years old.
She was born October 30, 1948 in Hoxie, Kansas to John and Lydia (Werth) Meier. Mary Lou grew up in Seguin, Kansas. She graduated high school and then proceeded on to Sydney’s Beauty College.
She loved being a crafty person. Her family describes her as a ‘meticulous crafty woman’. She liked creating projects and building and making various items. She also was known for making cakes for the family and professionally. She loved her grandchildren very much and cared for her family.
She is survived by her mother Lydia Meier, daughter Dayna Rodgers, son Dennis Rodgers all of Hays, sisters Dorothy Ochs, Betty Wolf and Carol Joy all of Hays, brother John Meier of Catherine, Kansas, and 6 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death her father John Meier and daughter Danette Rodgers.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1906 Pine. Burial will be at St. Catherine Cemetery in Catherine, Kansas.
