Norine M. Leiker, 79, Hays, died Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Via Christi Village.

She was born September 16, 1942 in Hays, the daughter of Leo A. and Angela (Klaus) Leiker.  Norine attended Hays schools and graduated from Girls Catholic High School in 1960, and while in high school, her brother appreciated her help with his English homework.  She was self-employed as a housekeeper and worked at Travenol.  Norine had a special love and connection with her nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She enjoyed artwork, drawing, and possessed a strong faith in God and devotion to the rosary. 

Survivors include three brothers: LaVern Leiker of Great Bend, Reinhold “Ronnie” Leiker and wife Dianna of Hays, and Art Leiker and wife Marilyn of Hays, a sister: Erma Dinges of Hays, two sisters-in-law: Bernetha Leiker of Hays, and Darlene Leiker of Ellis, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers: Herb, Erwin, and Kenneth Leiker, two brothers-in-law: Norman Gross and Jim Dinges, and two sisters-in-law: Janet and June Leiker.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Friday, February 18, 2022 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Munjor with Fr. Damian Richards officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 on Thursday at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home and from 9:00 am until service time on Friday at the church.  A vigil service and rosary will be at 6:30 pm on Thursday at the funeral home.  Memorials are suggested to TMP-M High School, St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, or for masses.  Condolences and memories of Norine may be shared with her family at www.haysmemorial.com
