Pauline Miller

Pauline Miller, 89, Hays, died Friday, April 30, 2021 at Via Christi Village.

She was born September 26, 1931 in Munjor, the daughter of Paul and Ida (Befort) Leiker.  In 1948, she graduated from Schoenchen High School.  On October 24, 1959, she was united in marriage to Patrick J. Miller in Munjor, and they celebrated 31 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on January 18, 1991.  She was a farmwife and homemaker.  For many years, she volunteered at the ARC Thrift Shop.  Her memberships included Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and the Hays Daughters of Isabella Circle #254.  She was an avid Kansas City Royals fan, enjoyed crocheting, and loved her grandchildren.

Survivors include a son: Patrick Miller, Jr. and wife Lea of Hays, a daughter: Paulette Seib and husband Frank of Munjor, five grandchildren: Jill Seib-Schaub and husband Ryan of Kansas City, MO, Becky Cable and husband Tim of Chapman, Emily Miller and fiancé Wade Woydziak of Hays, Jason Seib of Overland Park, and Timothy Miller of Hays, four great grandchildren: KayLee, Tucker, Peter, and Addison, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Patrick, two brothers: Gilbert Leiker and wife Gloria and Norbert Leiker and wife Betty, five sisters: Virginia Schmidt and husband Bill, Alexia Robben and husband Elmer, Mary Frank and husband Eddie, Agedia Haselhorst and husband Walter, Tillie Windholz and husband Tom, and an infant brother and sister: Justin Leiker and Irene Leiker.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Fr. Ryan McCandless officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Severin Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 on Tuesday and from 9:00 am until 9:45 on Wednesday, all at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.  A Daughters of Isabella rosary will be at 6:00 pm followed by a vigil service at 6:30 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.  Memorials are suggested to St. Severin Cemetery or to St. John’s Chapel at Via Christi Village.  Condolences and memories of Pauline may be shared with the family at www.haysmemorial.com
