Peter A. “Pete” Kreutzer

Peter A. “Pete” Kreutzer, 70, longtime Hays resident, died Thursday, March 18, 2021 at Olathe Medical Center.

He was born November 21, 1950 in Hays, the son of Didcaus and Agnes (Pfeifer) Kreutzer.  In 1969 he graduated from St. Joseph’s Military Academy.  He served in the United States Army.  Pete was a cross country truck driver and a member of the Hays VFW Post #9076.  He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and his family meant everything to him.

Survivors include two brothers: Robert Kreutzer and Rich Kreutzer and wife Loretta all of Hays, two sisters: Mary Lang and husband Robert of Manhattan and Gloria Aust and husband Steve of Olathe, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Fr. Ryan McCandless officiating.  Burial with military honors by the Hays VFW Post #9076 Honor Guard will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 6:00 pm until 8:00 on Tuesday and from 1:00 pm until 1:45 on Wednesday, all at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.  A vigil service and rosary will be at 7:15 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.  Memorials are suggested and payable to: VFW Post #9076 Honor Guard.  Condolences and memories of Pete may be shared with the family at www.haysmemorial.com
