Randall Robert “Randy” Chaffee

Randall Robert “Randy” Chaffee, 71, Junction City, died Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Overland Park Regional Medical Center.

He was born December 11, 1950 in Clay Center, the son of Robert Calvin and LaVern Evelyn (Hahn) Chaffee.  He was a graduate of Riley County High School and Manhattan Technical School.  He was the owner and operator of Randy’s Marine Service, Inc. in Junction City.  His hobbies included dirt track racing, boating, water skiing, racing, hot rods, and Nascar.  Most of all, he loved his sons, family, and dogs.

Survivors include two sons:  Neal Chaffee and Brent Chaffee, both of Hays, a brother:  John Chaffee and wife Joyce of Leonardville, and a niece:  Christina Hollen of Russell.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister:  Leah Hollen Ramsey, and a nephew: Corey Hollen.  

A celebration of Randy’s life will be planned at a later date and the family has suggested memorials be made to the Junction City Animal Shelter.  Condolences and memories of Randy may be shared with the family at www.haysmemorial.com
