I am late in learning of Bob's passing.

Bob was a friend who encouraged me when we worked together at FHSU during the 70s and 80s.  I remember his playing the guitar and singing folk songs in the Felten-Starte Theatre.  Always, a happy guy, Bob brought joy and confidence to my life.

My condolences to the family.

Cathy and I were shocked to hear of the loss of your husband and father. Cathy and I have recalled with fond memories the evening we had the pleasure of spending with you and Mr. Maxwell last summer at the little pub on eighth street. Mr. Maxwell and I shared stories of our military experiences. I remember leaving that evening impressed with his patriotism and love for this country. I lost my own father this past March and so my empathy for your loss is heart felt. Mr. Maxwell shared his musical talent with those gathered at the funeral Mass for my father. I am forever in his debt for that.

Dear Eileen, sorry to hear about Bob's passing. I have been gone from Hays for a long time but have kept up with lots of people. Many have told me of the respect for Bob. My connection with him was his singing at funerals of family and friends. He was SPECIAL. Your family is in my prayers!!!     Arlen Walters

Dear Eileen and Family,
I am very sorry to hear about Bob.  Your husband, father, grandpa...is going to be put up on a pedastel by me, right next to my dad, Rich Schmidt.  Such a great man, great teacher, soloist, wonderful story teller, loved his wife and family, such a giving friend, so many many things he represented to our community and churches.  The music is silenced here on Earth, but oh how he must be singing his heart out in heaven.
My love and prayers are with you.
Karen and Mabel.

Eileen and Family;

I am so sorry for your loss.  I’ve know Bob for many years and my father was a “special deputy” commissioned by Bob Maxwell in 1955 to direct traffic at FHSU.  Later on in life, my dad eventually became Chief of Police in Norton, Kansas.  Bob has touched many lives and will be missed!

Eileen and family, I'm so sorry to hear of Bob's passing.  I for one will miss all those stories that he would tell me where we did a funeral together.  There will be many, many song that will bring his memory to the forefront, "Goin Home", "Magnificat", Der Goldene Rozenkranz" and countless other.  The only song I wish I could have heard him sing but never did was "The Holy City".  Bob, enjoy eternal life now with your family in heaven good and faithful servant.
