Robert Carl “Bob” Moore
Robert Carl “Bob” Moore, 73, Hays, died Monday, August 17, 2020 at Hays Good Samaritan Society.
He was born December 10, 1946 in Hallowell, Kansas, the son of Henry and Ethel (Speck) Moore. He was a graduate of Columbus High School in 1965. On December 1, 1973 he was united in marriage to Betty C. McCullough in Hays, and they celebrated 46 years of marriage. Bob worked for Gilmore Pipeline & Oil Field Construction Company for 20 years and then was a truck driver for Ellis County for 20 years. He enjoyed vegetable gardening, riding horses, and raising a variety of farm animals including goats, chickens, pigs, cats, ostriches and milk cows. He loved hunting and fishing and spending time with his children and grandchildren as he taught them to hunt and fish.
Survivors include his wife; Betty of the home in Hays, three sons; Dwayne Davis and wife Christine of Wapakoneta, OH, Justin Davis and wife Shanna of Craig, CO, and Stan Moore and wife Mae of Hays, two daughters; Melissa Moore of Reedsburg, WI and Tammy Robertson and husband Daniel of Fort Worth, TX, a brother; Jim Moore and wife Nancy of Hays, a brother-in-law; Harry Cormony of Oswego, 18 grandchildren; Nathan, Brandon, Kyle, Megan, Zach, Levi, Matthew, T.J., Robby, Maxine, Jarod, Ryan, Trevor, Taylor, Josh, Anna, Dakota, and Blaine, and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister; Fredia Cormony.
A memorial service will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at Forbes-Hoffman Memorial Chapel in Chetopa, Kansas. Inurnment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Chetopa. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Pheasants Forever, in care of Forbes-Hoffman Memorial Chapel in Chetopa or Hays Memorial Chapel in Hays.
