Sheila Jordan, 57, St. George, Kansas, formerly of Hays, died Monday, March 27, 2023, surrounded by her family at Select Specialty Hospital in Kansas City.

She was born March 30, 1965 in Great Bend, the daughter of Clarence J. and Florentine “Flora” (Unrein) Gross.  She was a graduate of Hays High School in the class of 1983 and Hays Academy of Hair Design.  On July 20, 1985, she was united in marriage to Randy Jordan, Jr. in Hays.  They later divorced.  Sheila worked as a paraeducator at Wilson Elementary School.  She was a member of Celebration Community Church, which was family to her and a place where she enjoyed her work and found her purpose as a secretary.  Sheila was a fighter who courageously battled cancer.  She transported rescue dogs, loved her beloved dog Grace, and was a K-State fan.  Sheila loved family gatherings that included playing board games and was very proud of her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her three sons, Christopher Jordan and wife Emily of Manhattan, Matthew Jordan of St. George, and Gardner Jordan and wife Alexes of San Tan Valley, AZ, two daughters, Nikki Wiggins and husband Ryan of Russell, and Bailey Jordan of Brighton, CO, a brother, Stan Gross and wife Carol of Sun Lakes, AZ, three sisters, Shirley Tackett of Chandler, AZ, Serena Tenbrink and husband Lyle of Spearville, and Sandy Barber and husband Jack of Chandler, AZ, four grandchildren, Aidyn Wiggins, Gannon Wiggins, Dillyn Wiggins, and Connor Jordan, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and stepmother, Mary Gross.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at Celebration Community Church with Pastor Brant Rice officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 9:00 am until service time on Thursday at the church.  Memorials in Sheila’s memory are to be determined and may be made payable to Matthew Jordan.  Services are in the care of Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.  Condolences and memories of Sheila may be shared with her family at www.haysmemorial.com
