Shirley A. Speier, 73, formerly of Hays, Kansas, died Monday, May 31, 2021 at the Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.  Her Guardian Angel came down from above and wrapped her wings around her and carried her to heaven.

Shirley was born June 11, 1947 in Hays, Kansas to Clarence “Red” and Lenora (Quint) Speier. She graduated from Marian High School in May of 1965. Shortly after her graduation, she moved to Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. There she obtained her LPN Associate Degree and worked at the St. Agnes Hospital as an LPN and in many other positions until she retired after 44 plus years.

While growing up she loved to go to Cedar Bluff Lake with her family, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins on the Speier side every weekend. There she learned to water ski and fell in love with boating, fishing and camping.  While living in Fond du Lac, she also enjoyed going to the lake with friends, and in the winter, she rode her bobsled.  She also loved the outdoors.  Her favorite sport was football!  She loved the Green Bay Packers and of course the Kansas City Chiefs. Shirley always said what was even better was when they played against each other because she was always a winner.

Shirley is survived by her significant other: Laurie Bowman and fur kid: Lucie all of the home, her sister: Sharon K. (Speier) Suttle of Hays, and many caring friends and neighbors.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother in- law: Glenn W. Suttle, her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins on both sides of the family, and her fur kids: Bobbie Joe, Casey, Gray, Katie Rose, Dasha, and Sammie.

A memorial service will be at 4:00 pm on Saturday, June 5, 2021 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home.  A private family inurnment will be at 1:00 pm on Friday, June 11, 2021 in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hays, Kansas.  Memorials are suggested to Hays Veterinary Hospital, Hays, KS, or to Hospice Home of Hope, Fond du Lac, WI, in care of Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.  Condolences and memories of Shirley may be shared with the family at www.haysmemorial.com
