Stuart James Doyle

On Tuesday, February 2, 2021, Stuart James Doyle, loving husband and father of one child, passed away at 70 years old.

Stu was born on January 15, 1951 in Red Cloud, Nebraska. On September 9, 1972, Stu married Diane Legleiter. They raised one son, Brett Doyle. Stu received his Criminal Justice degree from Wichita State University.

Stu worked at the Johnson County Sheriff Department 1972 - 1984, reaching the position of Sergeant. Then, Stu moved on to work for the Federal Bureau of Investigation 1984 - 2007, as a Special Agent. Stu was known for his quick wit, and could hold a conversation with anyone.

He was an avid sports lover, and will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Breanna and Brandon Doyle, as well as his family and many friends. Stu enjoyed traveling with family, yardwork, and beekeeping.

Stu was preceded in death by his mother and father, Hazel and Charles Doyle.

He is survived by his wife Diane Doyle, son Brett Doyle and Brett’s wife Heather Doyle, grandchildren Breanna and Brandon Doyle, and sister Charla Doyle Reehm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Matthew Cowan officiating.  Inurnment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:00 am until 10:00 on Saturday at the church.  Donations on Stuart’s behalf may be sent to the American Kidney Foundation.  Condolences and memories of Stu may be shared with the family through Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home at www.haysmemorial.com
