Sue E. Trimble

Sue E. Trimble, 70, Hays, died Sunday, October 22, 2023 at HaysMed.

She was born March 4, 1953 in Hays, the daughter of Herbert and Bernetha (Boos) Leiker.  In 1971, she graduated from Hill City High School.  She was united in marriage to Joseph Trimble in 1971, and he preceded her in death on May 25, 1990.  Sue earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and was a dedicated early childhood teacher who loved the children she taught in the Garden City School District.  She had a strong faith life, enjoyed reading, learning history, and loved her family, extending that love as a foster parent.

Survivors include her mother Bernetha Leiker of Hays, a daughter, Sarah Falke and husband James of Holcomb, three brothers, Mike Leiker and wife Ruth of Hays, Tim Leiker and wife Dot of Elkhart, and Steve Leiker of Russell, a sister, Barbara Moore and husband Bruce of Winfield, and three grandchildren, Arya, Everett, and Finley Falke.

She was preceded in death by her father and husband Joseph.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm on Friday, October 27, 2023 at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, with Pastor Russell Kirkpatrick officiating.  Inurnment will follow in the Palco Cemetery.  Memorials are suggested and payable to the Hays Public Library.  Condolences and memories of Sue may be left for her family at www.haysmemorial.com
