Victoria Lynn “Vicki” Rajewski

Victoria Lynn “Vicki” Rajewski, 70, Hays, died Wednesday, May 11, 2022 in Hays, KS.

She was born September 27, 1951 in Wichita, KS, the daughter of Milford L. “Red” and Donna (Nicholson) Frazier.  In 1969, she graduated from Valley Center High School.  She attended Wichita State University, graduating in 1973 with a degree in nursing and she later earned a Master’s Degree from Fort Hays State University.  Initially, she worked as an RN in pediatrics, but ultimately her passion became renal dialysis.  She worked several years at the St. Francis Hospital Dialysis Unit.  On February 12, 1977 she was united in marriage to Richard L. Rajewski, MD in Wichita.  They celebrated 45 years of marriage.  After moving to Hays in 1979, she helped her husband in his medical practice for several years.  In 1985, she helped start and was nurse manager of the Hays Medical Center Dialysis Unit until her retirement in 1995.  She was a member of St. Nicholas of Myra Catholic Church.  Vicki’s main activities were her family, time at Kanopolis and Wilson Lakes, gardening, and her many house plants.  She loved walking on the beach while vacationing on Sanibel Island, Florida.

Survivors include her husband Richard L. Rajewski, MD of Hays, three sons: Joshua Rajewski and wife Dawn of Lenexa, KS, Justin Rajewski and wife Dr. Diana Rajewski of Cologne, Germany, and Jeremiah Rajewski and husband Matthew Becker of Denver, CO, four brothers: Stan Frazier of Eureka, KS, Roy Frazier of Valley Center, KS, Randy Frazier of Wichita, KS and Tom Frazier of Hesston, KS, three grandchildren: Carver and Kaley Rajewski of Hays, Abigail Rajewski of Cologne, Germany, and 15 nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at St. Nicholas of Myra Catholic Church with Fr. Robert Wachter, Fr. Damian Richards, and Deacon Dave Kisner officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery, Vincent, KS.  Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home and from 9:00 am until service time on Tuesday at the church.  A vigil service and rosary will be at 6:30 pm on Monday at the funeral home.  The family requests that masks be worn during the visitation and mass.  Memorials may be made payable to The Cancer Council of Ellis County, American Red Cross, Catholic Charities, or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.  Condolences and memories of Vicki may be shared with the family at www.haysmemorial.com
