I learned of Mrs. Sparkman's passing today. I so wish I had known sooner of her illness. Dave, Jon and Scot, I know you will find comfort in knowing your mom and dad are together agina in Heaven. Their pain is gone. Please take comfort in knowing that the number of people your parents touched is countless. And I am a better Christian for having known them. God Bless.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Sparkman and extended family. I was blessed to have spent time with David, Jon, and Scott while growing up next door to them in Hays. The boys, Alma and Lynn, who led me to the lord, had a tremendous impact on my life that I can not even begin to thank them for. I have many memories of all of them that I cherish. Alma was a true Christian soldier who touched and nurtured countless lives during her life. The Legacy that Lynn and Alma have left behind at High Plains Baptist will continue to change lives and lead souls to the lord for years to come. "Well Done My Good and Faithful Servant"

Dear family,
I just wanted you to know of our sympathy during these days. Alma, along with her husband, Lynn were the source of blessing many times over the years for our church. In our early years, they provided a pulpit supply and great encouragement to our church body and Alma had spoken to our ladies several times in more recent years. We always appreciated her sweet smile and words of great encouragement of the Lord's grace. It was very evident that she had a close walk with the Lord. She will be missed, but we are blessed with the privilege to have known such a lady as Alma.
Blessings on you!

Arabic Bible Outreach Ministry was blessed to have Pastor Sparkman and his dear wife Alma as its Field Reps. They both served faithfully together in presenting God's heart concerning the mission field of the Arab world to Churches and God's people. We know she is enjoying the presence of our Savior and now she is truly experiencing His rest! Our hearts with Jon and the rest of the family - although it is a time of grief and she will be missed, but yet we know that one day we will all meet again before His throne and we will continue in serving and worshipping Him who so loved us. May the Lord of Comfort comfort you at this difficult time.

Alma was one of the sweetest people I ever met. I didn't know her very well but her faith was expressed in all her actions. I know her family will miss her deeply. She is now in her heavenly home and only knows joy and peace. God Bless

One of my fondest memories of growing up in the 70’s in Hays, Kansas was attending Vacation Bible School in the summer and attending Joy Club each Wednesday afternoon after school in the basement of the Sparkman home. She brought so many blessed gifts to so many and praying for your peace to bring comfort, courage to face the days ahead and loving memories to forever hold in your hearts.

Alma was a woman who influenced my life for good. When Tim and I first moved to Hays and were attending High Plains, Alma came along side to encourage me to be the woman God wanted me to be.
Watching Alma in the classroom at HPCS was why I decided I wanted to become a teacher.
I watched as she led silently and behind the scenes, with humility and grace, sometimes letting others take the credit.
Her greatest gift to me was a phrase that she used to spur me on to righteousness. It has always been written in the cover of my Bible since the day she shared: "When you do what you know is right, God will always bless."
THANK YOU ALMA!

David, Jon, Scot and families, Alma was a wonderful, Godly woman and example. She was a spiritual mentor to Pennie and we considered your parents a second set of parents for us when we lived in Hays.Sorry we are unable to be there but you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Because of Alma I know for a fact that I will see her again in Heaven. Through their ministry I was saved and all of my family. Where would I and my family be if not for their faithfulness in serving the Lord? I remember telling her I needed to get a few things straighten out before I could except the Lord as my savior. In her wonderful wisdom she said "Except the Lord and He will work them out for you". She taught me so much from the Bible about being a wife and mother. So if you need to get some things straighten out in your life and don't know the Lord. Do what this wonderful lady told me to do. Except the Lord and he will help you straighten them out!.
I will miss talking to you on the phone. I will remember what you have taught me. I will pass the teaching on to others. Thank you, Pastor and your family for your faithfulness in serving the Lord. Now you are both with our Lord. Can't wait to see you again in Heaven.

Jon and family - I am so sorry to hear about your Mom's passing. She sounds like she was a wonderful woman who gave and received a lot of love. It is never easy to lose a parent, who was part of your own foundation in life. I wish you strength to get through this and that you have many wonderful memories with her to relive and cherish. Karen
