My deepest sympathy to Shelly's family and her partner Tom and daughter. It is always difficult to lose someone to an illness when we believe that they should have so many more years ahead of them. May the memories of her good health and those times people shared with her be comfort during this time of loss.

Please accept my sympathy for the loss of Chelly. I was not aware of her illness, I recently got in touch with her about 2 years ago on facebook, I was excited that she remembered me. She looks the same on her picture just grown up---still as beautiful as she was when she was a little girl. I met Chelly, when my sister Jane (Schulte) Goodheart got married with her husband Mark, and they lived in the basement apt, of a house behind Jane Costigan's house back in the late 70's. She made me feel like I was apart of the neighborhood kids, even though I wasn't from Hays, Chelly always made me feel welcomed in her neighborhood. She was a sweet girl with a big heart. I will always treasure our friendship from our younger years. I am praying that God will give you strength and guidance during this very difficult time. I know that God has received another wonderful Angel. God Bless.

Chelly will always be in our hearts and memories. Strong and gentle, kind and loving she remains in sprirt watching over those she loved. Reminding us to always remember the way she lived, sharing her passion, wisdom and soulfulness. A loving partner, mother, daughter, sister and most of all friend. We shared laughter and tears, but she never faltered, fighting strong and tough. This is not the end, just the beginning of her next journey.
