When I moved to Hays in 1990 Bob was one of those people who made me feel welcome. His warm and loving heart always ignited another smile and genuine caring. I last saw Bob at Christmas where he was helping serve community dinners and spreading good cheer and good will to all. This is how I think of this beautiful man. I will miss him.

Hello I've had the pleasure of meeting Bob about 6 months ago while my boyfriend would help him with various jobs. Bob always talked so fondly of his children. He loved the grandbaby so much and I had the pleasure to view a video of her. I'm deeply saddened to hear of his passing. One of my fondest memories is Bob won tickets to see a band at the Barton County Fair. John and I talked Bob into racing to the top of a ladder of rope. We all enjoyed laughing while participating. I'd drop off water or snacks while they were working and Bob was always jamming out to christian music. We are so sorry for your loss. Bob will be missed. We will pray for you all during this time of grieving. Kiss Sophie for us. Rest in Peace

Bob was such a dear soul. I loved visiting with him when we both worked at Midwest Energy. Our kids all went to school at TMP. Bruce became a good friend of his through Marked Men for Christ. And we love having his sister, Luci, and Steve as dear friends in Russell. One of my favorite memories - dancing a waltz with him at a TMP fundraising dance. Another was getting to bartend at his daughter's (Rachel) wedding. He was always funny, kind, gracious, and it was a great joy to know him. Our sincere sympathies to all the Budke families. May God heal your hurting hearts.

I knew Bob through the Marked Men for Christ Ministry. He was always such a gregarious jovial man full of energy. I thoroughly enjoyed the times I got to spend with him when I would visit Hays Kansas. He will be deeply missed. He definitely made an impact on me and my life. Rest in Peace brother. May your memory be eternal.

We send our heart felt love and sympathy to all of you on the loss of Bob. We have so many fun memories with him and our kids being in school together. One that really stands out to me at this moment, was in 2008, as his son Austin and my son Cole, prepared to graduate from TMP. I was in charge of putting together their class video for graduation. Bob approached me with the request for a song to put in the video. It was an absolutely beautiful song, by singer Mark Harris called "Find Your Wings'. It is a parent telling their child:

So many different prayers I'll pray

But most of all I'll want to know
